The .ET domain extension is The country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Ethiopia. Established in 1991, it is operated and managed by Ethio Telecom, the primary state-owned telecommunications provider in Ethiopia. Direct registrations under the .et domain are supported and managed through official channels. Due to registry restrictions and the lack of a standardized public WHOIS or RDAP server, domain status and registration data are verified using DNS resolution fallback mechanisms (NS query/NXDOMAIN detection). It requires a minimum label length of 2 characters and supports up to 63 characters. It does not support IDN characters, meaning only standard English characters are allowed. Registration is completely open and unrestricted globally to individuals and organizations.
