The .FK domain extension is The country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Falkland Islands. Established in 1997, it is administered and operated by the Falkland Islands Government (FIG). Direct registrations under the top-level .fk extension are generally not permitted; instead, registrations must be made under specific second-level subdomains. To qualify for an .fk domain registration, applicants must be residents of or companies registered in the Falkland Islands. Due to the lack of a standardized public WHOIS/RDAP server, domain presence and status are verified using DNS resolution validation (NS query/NXDOMAIN detection). It requires a minimum label length of 2 characters and supports up to 63 characters. It does not support IDN characters, meaning only standard English characters are allowed. Registration is completely open and unrestricted globally to individuals and organizations.
