The .GOV.TR domain extension is Strictly restricted second-level domain reserved exclusively for official Republic of Turkey government institutions, ministries, and state agencies. Registration requires institutional authorization and verification through TRABIS/BTK. Unlike commercial .tr extensions, .gov.tr maintains rigorous eligibility controls — only entities operating under the authority of the Turkish state may register. Used by all major government bodies including ministries, regulatory agencies, and public service portals. It requires a minimum label length of 2 characters and supports up to 63 characters. It does not support IDN characters, meaning only standard English characters are allowed. Registration is completely open and unrestricted globally to individuals and organizations.
